Dota underlords change avatar1/30/2024 ![]() You mention comeback mechanics but dont actually name any, and I hope you dont mean that some heroes or builds have comeback mechanics because they are stronger in late game, since thats true for every autobattler. Im not saying that the skill ceiling is low, but I dont agree that its higher than in classic autobattlers. Im not quite at your rating (~6.5k mmr, big boss/lord in Underlords for normals and KO respectively), so I would say I have enough knowledge to at least compare the games at their basic level. BG is a super high skill ceiling game, I don't think you've scratched the surface enough to properly get that. You have to be careful and not be baited in certain moments. Then your management of your economy is much more intense than the macro economy games, you have to know when you can actually afford to level up your tavern, versus strengthening the board and re-rolling is much more costly than the macro auto chess games. If you're playing in sub 5k games there is not a lot of skill by the players in the lobbies, but BG has a huge skill ceiling from board placement for either maximum damage, maximum scaling, or maximum gold earned off of things like avenge or deathrattle units that provide gold/cards. I'm 7.3k and I gotta be honest if you think there's no comeback mechanics you're just not understanding the game fully.Įvery hero is different, some are early game ramp, others are ones you just need one card at tavern level 4-5 that starts your scaling exponentially.
